Gujarat is at the top in implementing this important health plan within two months of the launch of Ayushmann Bharat Pradhan Jan Swasthya Bharat. As per the report dated November 23, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state has given an estimated 26 percent entry into the scheme. The scheme, launched on December 23, promotes health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family for 10 crore poor families.
According to the National Health Agency report, 3.4 percent of the households have benefited from the start of the scheme. According to a senior official, the claim under this scheme was Rs 400 crore till date. For this scheme, the Center and states have paid Rs. 350 crore. The finance ministry has asked to pay an additional Rs 2,000 crore for the rest of the financial year in the remaining financial year.
